Jethro Tull Tribute

Welcome to the stand alone internet page focused on Cold Flame, and their concert performances dedicated to the music of international progressive rock legends, Jethro Tull.

Introduction
When not performing original blues and folk rock music, Derbyshire based five piece band Cold Flame have for over several decades, performed the music of Jethro Tull in a special two hour plus tribute show that highlights the totally unique music of a legendary premier worldwide act. Over the years Cold Flame's tribute shows have evolved and developed with new Tull songs being added all the time and various theatrical elements being incorporated into a dynamic and unique must see show. Cold Flame have annually performed both indoor and outdoor events and various music festivals across the UK as well as occasionally in mainland Europe including headlining and guest performances at several Jethro Tull Fan Conventions in both Italy and Spain. As a result of such concert opportunities and exposure, the band have been featured on UK and European radio stations as well as receiving plaudits in national UK music magazines like 'Classic Rock' and 'A New Day'. In recent years, Cold Flame have maintained their tribute show status with rave reviews and support from audiences and critics alike. Today, having been part of the tribute circuit since 1998, Cold Flame are acknowledged as the premier Jethro Tull tribute band in the UK. They continue to perform both electric and occasional acoustic Jethro Tull tribute shows across the country and remain open to touring in mainland Europe whether in a public or private setting.

'Cold Flame perform the music of Jethro Tull' - The Show
Whilst showcasing both classic electric and acoustic Jethro Tull music, the band also attempt to capture some of the theatre that also made Jethro Tull such a unique live force within the music business. In considering the vast Tull music repertoire, Cold Flame specialise in highlighting songs from many of the early Tull albums between 1968 and 1980 including 'Stand Up', 'Aqualung' 'Thick as a Brick' and 'Songs from the Wood' alongside various lesser known gems from across the decades in a two hour plus show that highlights musical diversity, humour and uniqueness - traits that conjure up the very essence and appeal of Jethro Tull live. The band continue to vary setlists year on year ensuring that shows remain fresh and continue to include song and stage craft surprises complementing the extensive Jethro Tull back catalogue. This attention to detail comes from a determination to put on a show that will appeal to all fans of Jethro Tull as much as possible both from a musical and visual level.

Band Links with ex members of Jethro Tull
Cold Flame have established links with several official ex members of Jethro Tull over the years having supported two Tull off-shoot bands in the past - Mick Abrahams Blodwyn Pig and Glenn Cornick's Wild Turkey as well as appearing on the same bill as Clive Bunker, Martin Barre and Dee Palmer. The band have also welcomed on stage with them a number of ex Tull musicians including Paul Burgess, Gerry Conway, Martin Allcock as well as Tull guest musician and international violinist Anna Phoebe and Martin Barre's current bassist Alan Thompson.

Testimonials

"When they played for me a couple of years ago they put on a really excellent show, and in my opinion must be regarded as one of the UK's top tribute acts. They entertained a near full house and gave them all a most enjoyable evening. I can certainly recommend Cold Flame to any promoter if they are looking for a tribute band to appease Jethro Tull die-hard fans. You, and they, will not be disappointed in their performance - you can be certain!"

Mike Prendergast. UK Tribute Band Promoter, Gasto Promotions.

"We were all hoping for an enjoyable show in Crewe but we got a lot more than that. The standard of musician ship from all corners was very high indeed."

Dave Shepherd, BCB Radio Bradford.

"Love that Jethro Tull sound that Cold Flame capture ever so well"

Dan James, Radio Wales.

"A real celebration of Tull music. The five piece Cold Flame are now recognized as the premier Jethro Tull tribute act in the UK blending quality musicianship and songs with Pythonesque sketches of anarchic humour and larger than life personas and costumes. These are qualities you would expect to see from a Tull tribute and get them you do. Well worth seeing if you get the chance."
